information ethics is a joint initiative of
InfoResponse Associates and Oxford Business Intelligence
in collaboration with CILIP.
A role in professional ethics
information ethics is the first site of its kind in the UK. Its principal role is to offer a point of reference for members of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP) to relate their practical experiences to the Institute's Ethical Principles and Code of Professional Practice, providing editorial commentary on key issues, and facilitating member discussion of ethical dilemmas in the workplace.
Ethics in research
information ethics will be useful internationally to those undertaking research in the field of normative ethics, particularly in the information and associated professions. It aims to capture details of the latest published work on information ethics, and to provide links to a wide range of ethics resources from across the globe. Recommendations and submissions from visitors are especially welcome. The editors strive to achieve impartiality and objectivity in the presentation of content on this site and, in that spirit, welcome and encourage the submission of constructive opinions or observations.
