Why HTC went with micro-B instead of the far more common mini-B is because micro-B is far less common, which means they're more likely to see return business for adapters and charge kits and whatever else you can think of. It has nothing to do with making their phone idiot proof. I hope they at least give you the adapter like motorola did with the SLVR.
